iOS device not showing iTunes Windows 10 – One of the things I always love about 21st-century gadgets is the ability to use 1 device across multiple platforms. Before now, most device (smartphones, laptops) etc can only be used on a similar platform (OS), for instance, before Microsoft released Windows 10 you can only use a Lumia phone on a Windows 8 PC, and to do the same on a Windows 7 PC, you’d need a separate software like Zune and the rest but now the era of iOS device not showing iTunes Windows 10 are ver, thanks to the new integration and support among these independent systems.
Lumia phones were only able to make a Bluetooth connection to fellow Lumia phones, attempting to connect with any other phone like iPhone or Android was not successful. iPhones, iPads and pretty much any iOS-powered devices work better with one another and less with other platforms.
But now the reverse is almost the case, one can now use their device(s) to connect to other devices(s) be it a similar or different platform. Android users can now connect to Windows PC, Lumia users can now connect to Android users and so on, without any hassles.
Unfortunately, not all iPhones, iPads and pretty much iOS users have been able to connect to their Windows PC, normally iOS devices work best with macOS but it is understandable not everyone likes or can afford a Mac PC thereby resorting to getting a Windows PC which tends to be cheaper.
How to Fix iOS Device Not Showing iTunes Windows 10
So if you own any iOS device with a Windows 10/8/7 PC and you were unable to connect your iOS to your Windows PC, probably because the iOS device is not showing up in iTunes in your Windows 10, don’t worry this simple guide with solutions that will get you through on how to fix iOS device not showing up in iTunes for Windows 10
1. Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes for Windows
I’ve come to understand that some users aren’t always eager to update their apps and software because they might be thinking that it is not important. Well, I am pleased to tell you that having the latest version of your programs and apps is very much important because not only are they secured, they will also make sure everything works up fine.
So the first thing you need to do is to install iTunes for Windows 10 to your PC Which fortunately is compatible with Windows 10/8/7 and is made available for 32bit and 64bit machines.
2. Mark the Computer as trusted
I am sure you know what it means already to mark a device as a trusted device. So after you install iTunes for Windows, connect your iOS device to the PC via USB data cable, if your device is unlocked you will get a notification/request asking you to mark the PC you are connected to as a trusted device.
This setting is the first and basic thing you should do because, without it, all other things wouldn’t work. So don’t forget to tap Trust and make sure your device is unlocked while doing all this.
Also, if you skip step 1 above and jump to step 2, you will be automatically prompted to upgrade your iTunes to the latest version. However, you may decide to skip the update again but I sincerely doubt if what you’re trying to do will be successful. So please do make sure you install iTunes for Windows (latest version).
3. Restart Apple mobile device services in Windows
Once you’ve installed iTunes for Windows, several other services and components get installed with it as well. These services are what enables the overall software to work in all efficiency as it should. So after installing the iTunes software for Windows, reboot your Windows PC to restart Apple mobile device services in Windows.
Alternatively, you can press Win+R on your keyboard to pull up the Run Prompt, type services.msc in the space provided and hit the Enter button. Then you should see an entry called Apple Mobile Device Service. Right-click on it, and select Restart.
4. Reinstall USB drivers for Apple Mobile Device
Apples mobile device should automatically be installed upon installation of iTunes for Windows. But for the sake of making sure that everything works out fine, I had to reinstall Apple Mobile Device USB driver and to do so yourself and you will be sure to fix this issue of iOS device not showing iTunes Windows 10, all you have to do is to perform the following easy tasks on your Windows PC;
Pull up My computer (you can press Window+E) button on your keyboard and navigate to the following location C:Program FilesCommon FilesAppleMobile Device SupportDrivers then look for this file usbaapl64.inf and right-click on it then select install. (I didn’t double-click).
Now wait for a couple of seconds or minute(s) depending on your PC, you should find a popup with a success message called “The operating completed successfully.” then launch iTunes on your Windows PC and try reconnecting your iOS device everything should work smoothly and you’ll see a small phone icon at the top (just as shown in the picture above), it indicates that your iOS device is connected to your Windows PC.
The benefit of iTunes on Windows is to allow users to move files between their computers and iPhone or iPad. Without iTunes, it is quite difficult to transfer a file from a PC to your iOS. Whenever you successfully connect your iOS device, it shows up on iTunes like the picture displayed above.
Even if you are using Windows 10 which was used in making this tutorial, these same steps and solutions will work well for you. Just make sure you are up to date and follow these steps accordingly and you won’t have to worry about iOS device not showing iTunes Windows 10 anymore.
